\u201cNo other field is experiencing such rapid change through AI as software development itself,\u201d says Martin Schulze, CEO of BusinessCode GmbH<\/a>. Like many other providers, the Bonn-based service uses AI to support its daily operations, with AI-driven programming already saving between 10 and 50 percent of time depending on the context. This is only the beginning of a rapid evolution in AI applications within software development and across numerous other industries. This growth will have tangible impacts on industrial sectors, especially in mechanical engineering, affecting both value creation and underlying business models.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

With his extensive career in IT, Schulze understands the software development process inside and out. \u201cThe pace here is faster than in any other area, with product cycles significantly shorter. The use of AI <\/a>is accelerating this exponentially,\u201d Schulze explains.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

AI will also influence international labor distribution in software development. In recent decades, more IT services have been outsourced to countries like India, Indonesia, and Brazil, due to cost factors and a shortage of IT specialists in Europe and the United States. AI has the potential to transform these value chains and lead to a newly structured division of labor.
