Inside BusinessCode: Oleg Bayer is the “new” colleague in the team

Oleg Bayer started as a working student and intern at BusinessCode and is now a software developer and permanent team member.

Oleg Bayer started as a working student and intern at BusinessCode. Now he is a software developer and permanent team member. And there was something else: The bachelor thesis, of course, which was written successfully in cooperation with BusinessCode.

Actually, the new employee is an old acquaintance, having already passed through three stations in the company. But let’s start at the beginning.

“The first contact with IT was in computer science at the Vinzenz-Pallotti-Kolleg Rheinbach, where I graduated from high school in 2016,” says Oleg Bayer. He became interested and went on to study computer science at the Bonn/Rhein-Sieg University of Applied Sciences. His focus: “Complex Software Systems”.

As chance would have it, a fellow student worked as a working student with BusinessCode. “I wanted to gain experience during my studies. That’s why I immediately applied for an open position at BusinessCode,” smiles Bayer. And so he started working for us as a student trainee in summer 2018.

When the studies were drawing to a close, the next step was already clear: “At the Bonn/Rhine-Sieg University of Applied Sciences, a compulsory internship is part of studying computer science. Of course, there was no question that I did this at BusinessCode. I had the perspective of staying in the company after my studies. For me, this was particularly decisive. That’s why I wanted to see if I liked working at BusinessCode full-time. And what demands and new challenges I would have to face.”

Since Oleg fits perfectly into the team and is technically skilled (and of course has acquired some of the know-how with us), we made him an offer to work as a fullstack developer. In addition, Oleg had already liked working with us that year as a student trainee. So it came that at the end of his studies on 1.10. he was hired by us as a software developer.

His main tasks include working in the backend and supporting project managers in the implementation of assignments. This also includes continuous support for existing applications in SQL and Java. “By working at BusinessCode, I would like to improve my skills, broaden my range of topics and acquire the ability to build and maintain my own projects,” explains the native of Meckenheim.

What he appreciates about us? The broad spectrum of work, the familiar approach (with the associated company events), the competent colleagues from whom you can learn a lot. “Everyone can and should contribute their ideas and thoughts, and even if there are problems somewhere, you always have a contact person to help you,” concludes the new graduate. He underlines our company philosophy and fits perfectly into the team. We are delighted to have him on board for good!
